When is the shiba inu shedding?

Dogs shed their hair twice a year, in spring and fall. It is their way of adapting to the different temperatures of the seasons by changing their coat, lighter or more dense and woolly.

The shiba inu, as is the case with the akita inu, have an undercoat layer that isolates them even more from the cold winter. They also have a thin layer of fat that protects them. In order not to remove the natural coat, we must be careful and bathe our dog when it is really dirty.

If the shed is not taking place, the ideal is to go to the vet to rule out any illness or stress situation.
